Summer Solstice

Price: $30

Description:

🌞 Summer Solstice Celebration Workshop🌞

June 19th

6-7:30pm

Hosted by Emily Pearcy & Caitlyn Longo

Join us for a heart-centered Summer Solstice Workshop as we honor the longest day of the year with intention, movement, stillness, and community. We’ll begin by gathering together over a warm, grounding cup of tea, setting the tone for an evening of presence and connection.

The workshop opens with a gentle and energizing yoga practice guided by Emily Pearcy, designed to awaken the body and align us with the vibrant energy of the sun. Through breath and mindful movement, we’ll celebrate the light within and around us, creating space to welcome the season of growth and abundance.

Following yoga, settle into deep rest with a healing sound meditation led by Caitlyn Longo. Through the soothing vibrations of sound bowls, crystals, and intuitive guidance, you’ll be invited to release, restore, and align with the rhythms of nature.

The summer solstice is a powerful portal for renewal and transformation. Together, we’ll reflect on what we are cultivating in our lives, honor the light of the season, and bask in the beauty of community.

✨ Come as you are. Leave feeling connected, radiant, and grounded in summer’s glow.

All levels welcome. Bring water, and anything to help you feel cozy during the sound bath. Crystals, journals, and any tools that make you feel safe.

Previous yoga or meditation experience is wonderful and also not required. All are welcome, please share this invite widely!

When: Saturday, August 2, from 9:00AM - 6:00PM

WhereStonewall Abbey Wellness (44 Main Street, Sperryville, VA 22740) will be our homebase for the yoga and meditation practice. This exquisite 1901 A-framed Abbey located in the quaint downtown of Sperryville, Virginia - only a 90 minute drive from D.C - boasts vaulted cathedral ceilings and large arched windows creating a warm, bright, peaceful, and restorative environment for our time together.

What to Expect: Following introductions and intention setting, the retreat will begin with a brief guided meditation that will flow into a juicy, extended yoga flow practice. The morning yoga session will conclude with the option for a guided journaling practice. Then we will grab snacks and lunch (all included!) and make our way to a peaceful hike through lush forests and along a scenic river dotted with waterfalls. We will pause for lunch and reflection before heading back to the Abbey where we will enjoy an extended restorative yoga practice including yoga nidra, sound bath, and conclude with journaling.

The cost of this retreat is $175 and includes:

Full day of yoga, meditation, hiking, and mindfulness practice

Light breakfast (yogurt, fruit, granola)

All-day snacks and tea service

Hearty and healthy lunch with vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options

Beautiful scenery, laughter, and joy!

We expect spots to fill fast! A full refund is available until July 1, 2025 (minus $25 deposit).

Travel considerations: Ultimately, participants are responsible for their own transportation to and from the retreat. However, closer to the date, we will help match ride seekers with drivers. Amtrak also has trains to Culpeper, Virginia. Contact Jackie for more information.

While this is a day-long retreat with no accommodations included, we encourage you to create a weekend adventure and stay for a night or two! We recommend AirBnBs in Sperryville, or in nearby Rappahannock, Culpeper, or Madison county. There is also one small apartment located above the Abbey that is available for rent on a first-come basis. Other nearby options include Hopkins Ordinary Bed & Breakfast in Sperryville and Graves Mountain Farm & Lodges in Madison.

Jackie has been teaching yoga to all ages (0-100+!) since 2013. She is trained in power and alignment flow yoga and adapts her knowledge of movement and mindfulness to meet students where they are in their practice. In her personal practice, Jackie enjoys experimenting with new movements, sequences, and poses and encourages her students to do the same. While she loves to challenge herself and others to find new edges in their personal practice, she is keenly aware that the physical yoga practice is a means to greater self-awareness and self-actualization. Jackie's intention is for every student to find a deeper and more compassionate connection to themselves, physically and emotionally.

Steph began her yoga journey when she studied abroad in Jaipur, India in 2004. Inspired by the benefits of breathwork paired with intentional movement, she explored different yoga practices for over ten years and was inspired to complete a 200-hr Yoga Teacher Training in 2017, focused on the Iyengar (alignment) tradition. In addition to teaching studio classes and workshops, Steph brings movement, breathwork, and meditation into everyday life to normalize the practice for peers and co-workers. Laugher and levity is an important part of her practice!

Together, Steph and I have taught a variety of classes over the past 2.5 years since meeting each other through Yoga District in DC. Steph’s yin pairs well with my yang and we thoroughly enjoy crafting unique experiences that take practitioners deeper into their own practice. Classes and workshops include Partner Yoga, Kids’ Yoga, 108 Sun Salutations to celebrate the changing seasons, and more!
