  • 200 Hour Hatha Yoga (2008)

Jason Wise

Jason began his yoga journey in 1998 from a visit to a power yoga studio in Jacksonville Beach, Florida near where he grew up. From that first class, he became fascinated with the philosophy and practice of yoga. He would spend hours reading yoga books at the local Barnes and Noble bookstore as yoga was not really a thing where he grew up. In fact, one of those books ended up being the required textbook for his yoga training a decade later. Yoga helped Jason heal deep emotional and generational wounds as well as treating carpal tunnel syndrome and functional scoliosis.

Jason received his 200-hour hatha yoga teacher certificate from the Vedanta Yoga Farm in Grass Valley, California in 2008. He also has a background in vinyasa, kundalini, power yoga, and yoga nidra. Jason has taught throughout the Pacific Northwest, North Carolina, Virginia, Mexico, and Peru.

Jason’s classes incorporate many different yoga modalities with a deep focus on breath and relaxation. He focuses on a deeper connection with the natural world and how to be more present and balanced on the mat. His classes have a touch of humor, storytelling, and live music occasionally. No matter what your experience level or confidence level may be, Jason is there to guide you where you are one breath at a time.

Jason lives in Madison with his wife and two kitties. He is a full time math and science teacher at Hearthstone School in Sperryville. Jason is also an avid hiker so say hey if you spot him on the trail!
